Microsoft 365 Copilot for Business: What You Need to Know

Written by Nick Ross | Nov 24, 2025 4:28:37 PM

Microsoft just dropped a brand-new Copilot SKU specifically for small and medium businesses. Lower cost, same Copilot capabilities. Let me break down what’s new, what it includes, how to activate it, and the FAQs everyone’s already asking.

What Is Copilot for Business?

Copilot for Business is a new sku specifically for SMB (less than 300 users) that you can now bolt into Business Plans (such as Basic, Standard, Premium).

Key Highlights:

  • Its got the same features as the regular $30/u/m plan
  • It will be available starting December 1st for Direct biz and CSP
  • There are also new bundles (which I cover below) that combine the base business plan with the copilot sku.

^^As you can see, all of the same features as the existing sku.

New Bundles

Microsoft is also offering new bundles, combining the base sku with the new copilot sku. They have plans with or without teams. (without is cheaper).

Promos

Microsoft is running promos for the new offering (including the standalone product and the bundle) from Dec 1, 2025 until Mar 31, 2026

What new promotions are available for Copilot Business and bundles?

  • 15% off Microsoft 365 Copilot Business (standalone)
  • 35% off Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Microsoft 365 Copilot Business bundle
  • 25% off Microsoft 365 Business Premium + Microsoft 365 Copilot Business bundle

What are the promo prices for each offer?

  • Copilot Business: $18/user/month (ERP $21)
  • Biz Standard + Copilot Business: $22/user/month (ERP $33.50)
  • Biz Premium + Copilot Business: $32/user/month (ERP $43)

Who is eligible for these promotions?

  • New or existing customers transacting via CSP
  • Must meet base SKU prerequisites

Seat limits:

  • Copilot Business: 1–300 seats
  • Bundles: 10–300 seats

What is the promo window and term?

  • Valid Dec 1, 2025 – Mar 31, 2026
  • Annual commitment required (A/A or A/M billing)
  • Monthly billing option available with 5% uplift

They are positioning an upgrade path where you are effectively only adding $10/u/m for the first year.

FAQs

If a customer already has the $30 Microsoft 365 Copilot, can they switch to Microsoft 365 Copilot Business?
  • Not mid-term; they must fulfill the current annual commitment but can purchase additional Copilot Business licenses at any time.
Are bundles eligible for CSP incentives?
  • Yes, bundles qualify for both CSP margins and incentives.
What billing options apply to bundles?

Bundles follow the same commitment terms as Microsoft 365 Copilot Business:

  • Annual Commitment / Annual Billing (A/A)
  • Annual Commitment / Monthly Billing (A/M)
  • Monthly/Monthly (M/M) is not available.

My Take

While I certainly think this is a step in the right direction to try and drive copilot adoption in SMB, I believe price alone isn’t going to cut it. Copilot continues to disappoint me on many levels with its current capabilities and I see a very low percentage of adoption after implementation given it’s not very proactive in it’s interaction with users.

I certainly think the promo + upcoming NCE renewals is an enticing time to try and pitch this to your customers if they have expressed interest in Copilot or AI tooling in general.
